‘God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work’
2 Corinthians 9:8
‘Every Good Work’ (EGW) is a Christian youth programme working in the city of Wakefield. We aim to bless young people and invite them to explore the Christian faith, work to bless their own communities through acts of service and grow in their own leadership abilities.
As such we engage in a number of different areas of work. This includes work in schools, youth groups, social action projects and youth churches. You can find out more about all of these on this website.
We are funded by the Church of England and work with and through Anglican Churches in the city, namely St Catherine’s Church, St Helen’s Church and St George’s Church. We also work with a number of partner organisations throughout Wakefield.
We aim to build good and positive relationships with young people both in and out of schools, encourage participation in social action and then reflect on those experiences. The aim is then for the young people to have their own ideas about social action projects and eventually to lead them.
This is an exiting opportunity and we are privileged to be be working on this and helping the young people learn more about themselves, be a contributing part of their local communities and learn more about Jesus and what it is to be a Christian in todays world.

Hannah is the Vicar of St. Helen’s and St. Paul’s – Sandal Magna Parish. She was previously Vicar of two churches in East Leeds and before that worked in the city centre of Leeds with a church plant in Holy Trinity Boar Lane and as Chaplain to the Trinity Centre. She loves Jesus, music and running…

Jo has a background in Youth Work but has also worked extensively in compliance & health care. She is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential but also running a tight ship in terms of the day to day running of the project.
When not working she can be found curled up with a good book & her Cocker Spaniel Harley. Or paddling on a beach somewhere with her friends & family.

Amy is a commissioned Church Army Evangelist. Before joining the EGW team, she served as a Pioneer Evangelist in a Centre of Mission, where she helped shape creative, inclusive outreach in the local community. Amy is passionate about walking alongside young people as they explore faith, identity, and belonging—and she believes church should feel like home.
The most important thing you need to know? She’s proudly owned by Fergus, her dog and constant companion.

Phil was a teacher before working for EGW and has taught at a variety of schools and colleges in the region, most recently at Leeds City College, teaching Computer Games Design.

Before joining ‘Every Good Work’ Joshua worked as a Religious Studies teacher in secondary schools. He has a masters degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, is the 3rd best guitarist at ‘Every Good Work’ and regularly bangs his head on low ceilings.
As part of our work we are pleased and proud to work with a number of organisations across the city.
